Begun during a 2024 residency at Arte Lagos in Mexico City, this ongoing body of work uses reclaimed wood, demolition materials, asphalt shingles, earth, tar, and ink. Burned, layered, and assembled into dark paintings and objects, the work considers structure, weight, and how separate parts meet, support, resist, and alter one another—questions that have continued into my later work about friendship and connection.
